Never help a child with a task at which he feels he can succeed.
The greatest sign of success for a teacher... is to be able to say, ’The children are now working as if I did not exist.’
One test of the correctness of educational procedure is the happiness of the child.: Maria Montessori
Often we brand children based on acronyms derived by man-"IQ, MI, ADHD, etc, etc...."
Little do we realize that this child has his own mind and has a biological clock which guides him on the duration of his work.
What he/she enjoys doing is what he will try perfecting in willingly.
If we could give them the required attention at home and correlate with what their facilitators-(traditionally called as teachers) do, then children will blossom like flowers with adorable unique fragrance.
Let us allow them to realize their own passions and nurture their interests and if possible adopt the montessori way of learning and life, so that home and school become a place of work with fun.
Prepared environments at home too similar to the montessori environments will aid in developing the child to grow into a peaceful and satisfied adult who will be a value addition to the society and world at large.
Mixed age groups in joint families of yesteryears helped children blossom into accommodating, mature, community oriented adults.
Likewise the montessori children grow and work amongst mixed age groups and they are such exemplary adults with a strong foothold on their values and ethics.
lets work towards a peaceful tomorrow by taking the preschoolers of today into this world of ideal educational approach.
Joy, feeling one's own value, being appreciated and loved by others, feeling useful and capable of production are all factors of enormous value for the human soul. Maria Montessori
